CoRide
Ride-sharing apps had become cluttered and transactional. We stripped the experience back to its essentials to prioritize user safety and booking speed.
The urban transportation sector is noisy. Most apps in this space had become bloated with ads, confusing delivery options, and hidden fees. Users were overwhelmed. But the bigger issue was anxiety. Safety features were often buried three menus deep, and the booking process felt cold and transactional. CoRide needed to break this pattern. They weren't just building a booking tool; they needed to design peace of mind into the interface itself.
We started by removing the noise. The new interface greets the user with a simple question—"Where to?"—and nothing else. We redesigned the safety hierarchy, pulling features like "Share Ride Details" and "Emergency SOS" out of the settings menu and placing them directly on the active ride screen. We also overhauled the visual language, moving away from aggressive urgency to a palette of calming teals and high-contrast typography for readability. - Cognitive Load: By removing upselling and ads, we reduced decision fatigue. Users book faster because there are fewer distractions. - Psychological Safety: Visible safety tools act as a trust anchor. Even if a user doesn't press the SOS button, seeing it constantly available lowers their cortisol levels during the ride.
